"I wanted to give you a win.... Thank you very much." Luka Doncic of the Los Angeles Lakers said goodbye to Dallas.

Doncic posted a letter to the Dallas Mavericks and fans on his social media on Thursday (Korea time). Doncic was traded to the Lakers through big deals carried out by the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas and Utah Jazz on Tuesday. Anthony Davis will be wearing the Dallas uniform. It was the first time in the history of the NBA that players who were previously selected for the All-NBA were traded during the season.
Doncic joined Dallas through a trade shortly after being drafted by the Atlanta Hawks with the No. 3 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. Doncic grew into a star representing the NBA during his six seasons in Dallas. Doncic, who debuted with the Rookie of the Year award, was selected to the All-NBA First Team for five consecutive seasons from his second season to last season, and last season led Dallas to the Final.

Doncic, a Slovenian, was considered one of the best prospects in Europe even before he entered the NBA. He was selected as an All-Tournament Team at the 2017 FIBA EuroBasket, and won the title at Slovenia, and also experienced the Euro League title and LIGA ACB regular league MVP as a member of Real Madrid. 안전놀이터
"Seven years ago as a teenager, I came here dreaming of playing basketball in the top-level league. I knew I would spend my whole career on this team and I wanted to give you a win. The love and support Dallas sent me exceeded my expectations," Doncic said in his letter.

Doncic continued, "Texas has always felt like home. Your support never changed, good or bad, when you were injured or when you reached the final. Not only were you there for the best moment, but you lifted me up whenever I needed you. Thank you for helping me shine where I needed you. For my next journey, I am leaving a city that felt like home. Dallas and the fans were special to me. I was truly grateful."
Doncic recorded an average of 28.1 points, 3 3-pointers, 8.3 rebounds, and 7.8 assists and 2 steals in 22 games this season. He was replaced after complaining of pain in his left calf during a home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Dec. 28, last year, and this game became the last game Doncic played as a Dallas player. Doncic is not eligible for this season's MVP title and all-NBA team because he failed to meet the criteria (more than 65 games) due to long-term absence.

Meanwhile, Dallas and the Lakers will face off on the 26th for the first time since they made a big deal. The game will be held at CryptoCom Arena, the Lakers' home stadium.
